Optos Ultra-Widefield Digital Retina Imaging
The Optos California is a ultra-widefield non-mydriatic fundus camera. A fully automated device, the Optos captures high-resolution digital images of the central and peripheral retina without pharmacological pupil dilation.
The Optos exam is fast, painless and comfortable. Nothing touches your eye at any time. It is suitable for the whole family and the capture takes less than a second. To have the exam, you simply look at the device one eye at a time and you will see a flash of light to let you know the image of your retina has been taken.
Our Doctors use these images for screening and monitoring of eye diseases like retinal detachments, glaucoma, optic nerve abnormalities, diabetic retinopathy, hypertensive retinopathy and macular degeneration.
This technology helps reduce the need for dilation drops in most patients, but your eye care provider will decide if your pupils need to be dilated depending on your conditions.
